Satellite images from SPOT and Pleiades have been used very often this week. From viewing the North Korean Anniversary Parade to helping the Indian Agricultural Ministry gather accurate crop information, the importance of using satellite imagery has become very apparent.
This week, satellite images from SPOT and Pleiades (Airbus), have been used to observe the celebrations marking 70 years of rule from the communist party in North Korea. The most secretive country in the world has been exposed, showing the large military presence at the parade. It is truly amazing how technologies deployed in space can allow us to gain an insight into a country where so few visitors are allowed, enabling us to understand the cultural significance of the communist rule.
