Lead Geospatial Consultant

Recent success with some well-known international clients, together with the successful closure of a funding round and an updated business strategy, has meant that the company needs to recruit key personnel to support delivery and growth.

Job Description

Geocento is looking to recruit a geospatial expert to support both the sales team and the product development team. The successful applicant will be key in ensuring that Geocento’s satellite imagery-based offerings, available through its web applications, are state-of-the-art and reflect the needs and priorities of its current and potential clientbase.
We are open minded in terms of the level of experience and seniority of the individual. Attitude, potential and ambition are particularly important, on top of an excellent grasp of the earth observation landscape and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre- and post-sales consultancy, providing clients with guidance in, and recommendations for, their use of geospatial services and Geocento’s role in supporting this, via effective analysis and understanding of their requirements (including explicit consultancy contracts).
2. Working with the product development team to design and deliver state-of-the-art geospatial products and services.
3. Designing and implementing a partner strategy to enable client access to key geospatial content and services through Geocento’s web applications.
4. Support to sales in bespoke business development and bids.
5. Support to the marketing team in terms of messaging and content.


Qualifications: Mandatory

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant technical qualification (scientific and/or geospatially-relevant subject).
2. At least 3 years of professional experience in the commercial geospatial sector.
3. Demonstrable understanding of geospatial and earth observation commercial applications, including commercial considerations.
4. Broad understanding of geospatial and earth observation technologies and players, including technical knowledge.
5. Demonstrable ability to work, under own initiative, with clients and potential clients to understand their requirements and to develop a role as trusted, independent advisor.
6. Excellent communications skills in English, both written and spoken.
7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
8. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications: Desirable

1. Eligibility for NATO clearance
2. Experience and knowledge of GIS
