Geospatial Lead

Your Responsibilities

You can expect to have a wide range of responsibilities and activities as follows:

• Engage with, and contribute to, the company business strategy covering all aspects of the business.
• Provide input into the product development plan, in terms of the deployment of up-to-date geospatial related technologies, products, standards, processes and techniques, but also more generally in terms of service design and functionality from the client and user perspective.
• Explore and design geospatial solutions and estimate effort, resources and partnerships involved.
• Take responsibility for Geocento’s partnership plan, engaging with data providers and value-added service organisations in consultation with the management team. This covers the range of activities from strategic planning of partnerships, to engagement and technical implementation with Geocento’s services, up to and including publishing new content on our platform.
• Provide geospatial support to our customer services in relation to client accounts, business opportunities and enquiries.
• Identify business opportunities in relation to existing and potential new clients and markets.
• Support the marketing team with geospatial messaging and content.


Requirements: Mandatory

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with geospatial technology and solutions, which can include relevant, extended education.
• Good quality degree in a scientific or technical subject (grade 2.1 minimum or equivalent)
• In-depth, demonstrable knowledge of earth observation.
• Ability to interact with clients to identify their business needs and translate these into geospatial requirements.
• Excellent communications skills, including in English, with the ability to present concepts and solutions in a non-technical, compelling way.
• An innovative, self-starter mindset with the energy and initiative to see through initial concepts to reality.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Full eligibility to work in the UK


Requirements: Desriable

• Technical experience in key geospatial technologies such as ArcGIS, NV5, etc
• Knowledge of databases and GIS systems integration, plus data management and standards knowledge and experience.
• Experience in automation of processes using Python and in producing geospatial workflows.
• Experience in Java
• A second language.
• Project management experience.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
